Christie's Offering Vintage Couture YSL

As part of its Interiors sale, Christie's is offering its first multi-owner vintage couture sale in New York on July 2.

The auction includes a special tribute to the late French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, with an offering of clothing and jewels spanning nearly every decade of the 71-year old's career. Items like a 1958 Yves Saint Laurent for Dior cocktail dress (priced at between $1,000 to $1,500) and a trademark Jackie O-favored YSL Rive Gauche camel cable knit and fox fur trim sweater from the 1970s will surely incite heavy bidding.

The roster boasts even more A-listers like Christian Lacroix, Thierry Mugler, Balenciaga, Mainbocher and the iconic Gianni Versace. Other notable pieces include a lime green 1960s two-piece dress by Courrèges and a Roberto Capucci Roma cocktail dress. As for accessories, expect a late 1970s funky metal matching set of choker and ear-clips by Paco Rabanne (estimate: $1,200-1,800), a Chanel crystal sautouir and an Hermès alligator mini Kelly bag (estimate: $4,000-6,000) and Sac Cordeliere handbag from 1961 (estimate: $2,000-3,000).
