More on Hermes + Liberty of London Collaboration

“I’ve loved Liberty since I was a kid. I used to wear the little smock dresses,” said Bali Barret, Hermès’ creative director of women’s silks, at a party to launch the Hermès pop-up shop at Liberty in London on Monday night.

Guests, including Shilpa Shetty, Roisin Murphy, Leah Wood, Jo Wood, and Tom Dixon, mingled under a giant chandelier fashioned from Hermès scarves while the teams from Liberty and Hermès showed off the fruits of their collaboration.

Hermès has screen printed its horseshoe and Ex-Libris motifs on Liberty micro-floral patterns for a series of limited-edition scarves and ties sold under the Hermès pour Liberty of London label. It also temporarily swapped the horse in its logo for a zebra – the symbol of Liberty’s retail "renaissance," an ongoing revamp of the store that's being spearheaded by chief executive Geoffroy de La Bourdonnaye.

The pop-up shop is located in Liberty’s new scarf room and will be open until October 18. In addition to the cotton, limited-edition scarves and ties, which range in price from 70 pounds, or $115, to 140 pounds, or $230, the shop also stocks Hermès silk accessories. Hermès will be offering scarf styling sessions for customers as well as custom embroidery services. {via WWD.com}
