The NY Times Style Section has an article today about women going back to wearing dainty watches like their grandmothers, so I ask, what kind of watch do you wear/prefer? Back in the 80s I was a Swatch fiend but keeping up with all those batteries got to be too much and most of them are in a drawer somewhere. Now I only have a few that I wear on a rotating basis. 2 stainless steel and one is somewhat dainty, it's an Hermes Cape Cod with a light blue leather strap.

I wear a TAG Heuer all the time... it's stainless steel and is the "in between" size. It's still pretty big though. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the dainty lady watches... but I can see their appeal for dainty girly girls.
I just did a story on vintage watches, and the dealers were all in agreement that men's is the rage. They keep waiting for ladies watches to come back around, but so far, it hasn't happened. If it is indeed the case, buy now! Ladies watches of the same maker and vintage as men's are comparitively a steal. I have my mother's gold, Bulova high school graduation watch that I wear quite a bit. It's tiny and I love it. My other watches are mens. The next time you watch "You've Got Mail" notice Meg Ryan's watch. Vintage, lean rectangular face, black grograin ribbon strap - it will make you want onel
I used to love dainty watches. These days, I raraly wear a watch at all; I just use my cell phone. I still have a fond spot for the dainty watches, though!
Wow quiet group today, no one wanted to weigh in on watches!
I have a TAG as well that I wear regularly. I alternate between that one and a Cartier tank.
Love the Meg Ryan watch. She's very "dainty" in that movie which is one of my favorites.
I also use my cell phone a lot in place of a watch when on the beach or vacation :-)
