Dear Santa

I want this...

but I need this...

Actually I don't know the first thing about GPS's (?) but I heard Garmin was a good brand. I just want something fairly easy to use and that is going to get me from point a to point b without me having a mental breakdown. Feel free to chime in with any suggestions!

We have TomTom and I LOVE it. I was really against the purchase but now I don't know what I would do without it. I hope Santa is good to you and brings both!!!

I had a Magellan, but now Ed has it. It's pretty nice. New car has one built in.

Just back from a wonderful vacay with a Magellan...and LOVED IT!!! So easy to program....it quickly recalculates route~ if you take a wrong turn~provides you grocery/gas/bank/restaurant/etc.. information...it's just awesome !!! We went all over Charleston, Hilton Head, Savannah and then some it~it never steared us wrong~COMPLETELY worth the money....you'll never need mapquest or an atlas again (be sure to take charger! :) )

P.S. I need some model #'s or something. I just looked at the Magellan and there are way too many to choose from!

Hi...to get back to you on models...I believe mine is on the low end of the scale....but I swear by it....(meastro 3100??? or something) but it truly ROCKS! My mother & I were laughing numerous times because it is so freakin wonderful! We both hate directions/maps/trying to figure all that out(even with mapquest....I know ~ we are sad-we can do it...we just dont like to!!!) The magellan will verbally tell you what to be looking out for & then on turns...it gives you a ding (or you can choose what sound from the choices) when you are to turn(maybe a few seconds prior) and all you have to know is the address....we hit ever single cute shop in the area....we just kept a phone book in the car....called the places & asked for the direction & keyed it in & bam! I think some of the higher #'s in Magellen may add certain countries..which if you plan on traveling abroad...it may be useful. if your looking for a grocery store or gas or bank you just choose it on the screen & it gives you a list to choose from (in the area that your in) and you just touch screen the one you want...and it takes you there.....LOVE IT! So I hope this helps..if you have any other questions-just email me....and I'm glad to see that you are still treating us with goodies this week~nice surprize! :) (you dont have to publish this-i just kind of wanted to give you a feel for the magellan....as prior to this one...I didnt have a clue how they operated....now I would not go on a trip without it...you will love it..once you decide which one...or whichever one Santa brings you.... :) let me know if there is anything else that you would like to know~
