I Want This!

It's times like these I wish I lived in England. I saw this on Vogue UK this morning:

WHETHER we like it or not, the nights are drawing in and it's time to start thinking about Christmas - so thank heavens that Anya Hindmarch is easing us into the festive season in style with the launch of her exclusively-designed hampers for Selfridges.

With prices ranging from £55 to £1,000, the eleven-piece collection includes a Best of British Hamper (packed with Tiptree and Lyons goodies and a Monty Python DVD), a New Year, New You Hamper for the detoxer in your life and our personal favourite - the Ultimate Girlie Hamper, which, amongst other things, contains pink Champagne, cashmere socks, a Diptyque candle, an iPod and a tin of biscuits made in the shape of Anya Hindmarch handbags.

"I have always been fascinated by hampers, their history and Britishness, but am always disappointed by yet another basket whose contents I don't actually want to keep," says Hindmarch. "When Selfridges asked if I wanted to design a hamper, I leapt at the idea of not only designing a hamper but choosing what I would really like to receive in one. The sort of 'hamper you would really like hamper'."

Comments Ewan Venters, Selfridges' food & restaurants director: "It's been a joy to work with Anya; she has an amazing eye for bringing edgy product together which we believe our customers will really want."

The hampers hit the shop floor - both actual and virtual - mid-October.
