J. Crew Dream Tunic

No, I am not turning into a J. Crew obsessed person - far from it But I wanted to check out a simple transitional dress and I popped in to see what was going. I haven't checked the site in ages and am probably the only person in the world that doesn't receive their catalog. I am a sucker for tunics. Love 'em all year round and I never see too many "winter" tunics. And I saw this...I might really need it - actually I went ahead and bought it before it magically sold out overnight. I also bought it in a large although a medium would have been fine...I like my sweaters to be a little roomy. This is also in my price range. I absolutely refuse to buy anything outrageous priced from J. Crew - it's not designer and therefore shouldn't be priced as such. When they are showing at the tents I will reconsider but until then no way. Also, since I haven't purchased ANYTHING from J. Crew other than a t-shirt or cardigan at the outlet I have no clue what size to buy. I also wish I could get away with wearing "carrot" but I don't think I would feel too comfortable treading there - it's just too bright. The other day at work someone said they almost didn't recognize me and kept thinking I was someone else because I wasn't wearing all black.

They wished they showed in the tents. But that would just be all kinds of wrong.

That is a really cute sweater/tunic. It would be nice if they offered it in more colors.

Just out of curiosity - why the disdain for J.Crew??

Sarah -

Thanks for asking but I think disdain is a little dramatic. I simply don't feel that the quality is superior for the prices that they charge. I am also not a member of the J. Crew Mafia that stays up all night waiting for the site to update and gets all orgasmic over their catalog photo shoots, etc. It's just a personal choice. I was a big fan in the very early days when the quality and prices were decent - just not so much now. Hope that answers your question.
