Tory B., Jake & Me

Let me just state for the record, in case you don't know - I have quite a few pairs of Tory Burch shoes/flip flops. I've never had an issue until now - perhaps as with any brand as it grows, the quality and customer service go out the window. Anyway...I fell in love with the Jake loafers about a month and a half ago during one of TB's sales. I bought a similar pair last year and love them. I tried to add them to my cart and check out like 10x. Something wasn't working but I really wanted them so I kept trying and I finally was able to place my order....only to have it canceled the next day. I was so disappointed. About a week later someone from Tory Burch called me and said they had located the shoes in San Diego. They would pass along my information and send out the shoes. About a week and a half went by and I never heard anything so last week I called TB customer service. They didn't know anything and said maybe someone from corporate had called me. There weren't any notes on the order, etc. so they gave me the phone number of the San Diego store and I followed-up. They didn't know anything either (it's nice to see every work place has communication issues!) but they had the shoes, and I gave them my info.

Fast forward to today...the shoes arrive - the wait it over...I open the box and the shoes have clearly been worn (looks like gum in addition to wear) AND they are damaged (see photos!) I called the store right away and they did not have another pair but said another boutique might but at this point I am cutting my losses - they were on sale, I paid $15.00 to ship them from California and now I have to pay to ship them back. I am really disappointed especially that no one bothered to look at the shoes before they shipped them out. I guess some things aren't meant to be!

You can click the pictures for close ups but do you see what I mean?

UGH! That's terrible. Not only to get an obviously worn pair but after all the effort you went to to get them, no thanks to them. It's good that you posted this and I'd also write a letter. Any company that doesn't compensate somehow for such shoddy service isn't worthy of customers.

Sorry you had such a bad experience with one of your favourites. I know how that is. Not nice.

How odd, I would also write a letter. It still doesn't make it any better though. How could they send you used shoes? Are they out of their minds?!

Oh no -- this must have been terribly disappointing, not to mention frustrating, to you!

I'm sorry to hear this, as I have quite the TB collection myself (although I normally have to try the shoes on in the store, as every style shoe has put me in a different size, and have never ordered online).

Poor form!

Unacceptable - all the way around.

If they are monitoring their media closely (which they should be) your post will show up and hopefully lead to a resolution and at the very least full reimbursement for shipping used shoes. Ugh.

Keep us posted...

Hope you are well, otherwise! :)

Oh, that is just awful!!! Those are clearly worn.

On another note, the title of this post could very well be a title of a great book! hahaha

That totally sucks! You would think that if you spent that much $ (even on sale they were pricey) for shoes there would be a certain level of good customer service to go along with it.

Looks like companies with the initials TB need our help in the quality/service departments :)

Sorry about your shoes not working out for you - having to send something back is always a huge let down!

What a pain in the neck. I love TB, but I would be upset too.
